Torah in our minds & hearts

The Torah

Shoot an arrow and hit a mark !!

The word Torah means direction, instruction or teaching-

meaning guidance and protection in our lives.

The word Torah never means law.

Matthew 7:21-23

21 “Not everyone who says to Me,

‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven,

but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

22 Many will say to Me in that day,

‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name,

cast out demons in Your name,

and done many wonders in Your name?’

23 And then I will declare to them,

‘I never knew you; depart from Me,

you who practice lawlessness!’

Hebrews 10:16

16 “This is the Covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord:

I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,”

Grace or works ??

Works do not produce salvation- never.

Salvation always produces works of faith.

We follow the Torah not for our salvation.

We follow the Torah because of our salvation !!

Yahweh our God loves us and we are saved by grace.

We love Yahweh our God by keeping His Commandments.

All of His Commandments.

2 Thessalonians 2:16

16 Now may our Lord Yeshua the Messiah Himself and God our Father,

who loved us and by grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope,

17 comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good deed and word.

1 John 5:2-3

2 By this we know that we love the children of God,

when we love God and keep His commandments.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments.

And His commandments are not burdensome.

The New Covenant

So, what is new ??

The difference between salvation in the Old Testament and

the New Testament is the sacrifices.

In the Old Testament the sacrifices were animals once a year and year after year.

Animal sacrifices took place once a year mainly as a reminder of sins.

The blood of bulls and goats could never fully remove sin-

only cover it for a time.

Animal sacrifices could not take away the sins of the world.

Only Messiah’s death fulfilled Yahweh our God’s will to forgive our sins-

once for all.

In the New Testament there is just one sacrifice one time and for all.

Isaiah 40:8
8 The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.

I repeat:

We follow the Torah not for our salvation.

We follow the Torah because of our salvation !!

It`s not about having to keep Yahweh our God`s Commandments-

It`s that we get to !!

“I will put My Torah within them.
Yes, I will write it on their heart.
I will be their God
and they will be My people.

The Holy Spirit & the Torah

It`s very important to us read and know the whole Bible.

Why ??

Bacause the Holy Spirit never speaks or tells against the Bible.

I give you a couple examples, what I mean.

When I was in Israel in 2007-2008, I felt that I should take a tattoo.

The name Yeshua in Hebrew (ישוע) on my chest (and on my heart).

What a nice and beautiful thought…

I have visited one tattoostudio in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem)-

nearby where I lived.

It was very clean, like a hospital.

But I was not sure, so I did nothing.

And the Holy Spirit kept quiet.

But during that week on the 4th or 5th day,

when I was on the roof with my morning coffee praying,

suddenly I remembered this verse:

Leviticus 19:28

28 You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead,

nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.

Immediately I knew that satan tried to get me in a trap.

Yahweh our God and His Torah protected me.

Sin of homosexuality

I cannot imagine any worse thing than what homosexuals do with each other.

It just make me puke.

The homosexuality was the sin that Yahweh our God destroyed

Sodom and Gomorrah.

Genesis 19:4

4 Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom,

both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house.

5 And they called to Lot and said to him,

“Where are the men who came to you tonight?

Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.”

Some other verses and I think, it`s enough said:

Leviticus 20:13

13 If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman,

both of them have committed an abomination.

They shall surely be put to death.

Their blood shall be upon them.

Romans 1:26-28

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions.

For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.

27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman,

burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful,

and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge,

God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?

Do not be deceived.

Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,

10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will

inherit the kingdom of God.

Abortion nowadays is used like prevention made afterwards.

But it`s just a murder and nothing else.

Exodus 20:13

13 “You shall not murder.

The Shabbath

Exodus 20:8-11

8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,

10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.

In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter,

nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle,

nor your stranger who is within your gates.

11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea,

and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.

Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Ezekiel 20:12
12 Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them.

When I read Leviticus 11 & Deuteronomy 14,

I know what foods are healthful for me.

Yahweh our God reveals which foods are suitable and unsuitable

for human consumption in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14.

Why does Yahweh our God identify some foods as suitable for human

consumption and others as unsuitable ??

Yahweh our God did not give Torah to arbitrarily assert control over people.

Yahweh our God gave us His Torah including those of which foods are clean or

unclean that it might be well with those who seek to obey Him.

Although Yahweh our God did not reveal the specific reasons some animals may be

eaten and others must be avoided, we can make generalized conclusions based on

the animals included in the two categories.

To eat or not to eat ??

In listing the animals that should not be eaten, Yahweh our God forbids the

consumption of scavengers and carrion eaters, which devour other animals

for their food.

Animals such as pigs, bears, vultures and raptors can eat (and thrive)

on decaying flesh.

Predatory animals such as wolves, lions, leopards and cheetahs most often

prey on the weakest (and at times the diseased) in animal herds.

When it comes to sea creatures, bottom dwellers such as lobsters and crabs

scavenge for dead animals on the sea floor.

Shellfish such as oysters, clams and mussels similarly consume decaying

organic matter that sinks to the sea floor, including sewage.

A common denominator of many of the animals Yahweh our God designates

as unclean is that they routinely eat flesh that would sicken or kill human beings.

When we eat such animals we partake of a food chain that includes things

harmful to people.

Also, some berries, vegetables and fruits can be harmful to people.

We can eat whatever we like but all foods are not healthful for us.

So, it`s better to us to eat only healthful foods.

The Torah protects us.

We need the Torah

I could keep on telling you these examples for hours-

but I think I made my point.

We need the Torah for our direction, instruction or teaching-

meaning guidance and protection in our lives.

It does not matter, what you think or feel.

We need the Torah.

If you like to do what ever you like,

and the Torah is not written in your heart,

ask youself:

Am I saved ??

Or am I just a Christian pew warmer in a church ??

The one & only thing that separates us from this world is the

directions, instructions and teachings in the Torah.

1 John 3:4

4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness,

and sin is lawlessness.
