Ezekiel 8:13-14
13 And He said to me,
“Turn again, and you will see greater abominations that they are doing.”
14 So He brought me to the door of the north gate of the Yahweh’s house;
and to my dismay, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz.
Among the gods of Babylonia none achieved wider and more enduring fame
than Tammuz.
Tammuz (Sumerian Dumuzi) in Mesopotamian religion, was a god of fertility
embodying the powers for new life in nature in the spring.
Tammuz was best known for his patronage of herdsmen and his romantic
entanglement with Inanna (the Sumerian goddess of sexual love) also known
as Astarte or Ishtar- the amorous Queen of Heaven.
The Queen of Heaven
“The original of that mother, so widely worshiped, there is reason to believe was
Semiramis, already referred to, who it is well known, was worshipped by the
Babylonians, and other eastern nations, and that under the name of Rhea,
the great Goddess “Mother”.
“The 40 days abstinence of Lent was directly borrowed from the worshippers of
the Babylonian goddess.
Among the Pagans this Lent seems to have been an indispensable preliminary to the
great annual festival in commemoration of the death and resurrection of Tammuz.”
(The Two Babylons by Alexander Hislop).
Tammuz was the false Messiah of the Babylonians-
a satanic counterfeit of Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ) !!
The Feast of Tammuz was usually celebrated in June.
Lent
The word Lent means “spring” and derived from the Anglo-Saxon word “Lencten”
and it took place from spring to early summer.
Spiritually speaking, all roads lead to Babylon and such is the case in regard to the
40 day spring fasts.
In one version of the Babylonian myth, Tammuz the great hunter was slain while
hunting a wild boar.
Worshippers of Tammuz mourned and wept with his consort Ishtar believing
that his rebirth would mean the regeneration of life within nature.
Devotees mourned for him through weeping ceremonies for 40 days.
This ritual was even found among the Israelites (Ezekiel 8).
And for instance, the ancient Egyptians observed a 40 day fast in honor of Osiris.
In Catholicism, which is the mother of all other Christian denominations,
they have instituted a spring fast attributed to the suffering of Christ.
However, such a non- biblical fast and its rituals are rooted not in Christ but in the
pre-Christian Pagan worship of antiquity.
But why did the Roman Catholic Church institute Lent ??
“To conciliate the Pagans to nominal Roman Catholic Christianity, Rome,
pursuing its usual policy, took measures to get the Christian and Pagan festivals
amalgamated and by a complicated but skillful adjustment of the calendar,
it was found no difficult matter, in general, to get Paganism and Christianity-
now far sunk in idolatry- in this as in so many other things, to shake hands”.
(The Two Babylons).
The Roman Catholic Church replaced Passover with Easter, moving the pagan
Feast of Tammuz to early spring and Christianizing it.
Lent moved with it.
This change of the calendar in regard to Easter was attended with momentous
consequences.
It brought into the Christianity the grossest corruption and the rankest superstition
in connection with the abstinence of Lent.
Before giving up personal sins and vices during Lent, the Pagans held a wild,
“anything goes” celebration to make sure that they got in their share of debaucheries
and perversities- what the world celebrates as Mardi Gras today.
Abomination masked as Christianity.
Isaiah 55:8-9
8 “My thoughts are not your thoughts,
and my ways are not your ways,” declares Yahweh.
9 “Just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways,
and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts.”
Traditions of men
Yahweh our God never instituted Lent, a pagan observance connecting debauchery
to the supposed resurrection of a false Messiah.
Yahweh our God commands His people to follow Him- not the traditions of men.
The observance of Lent did not exist among the early congregation-
you cannot find it in the Bible.
Within the Bible we find no commandment to observe such a fast.
Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday, Lent and Easter are all non- biblical feasts.
1 Corinthians 14:33
33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—
as in all the congregations of the Yahweh’s people.
1 Peter 1:16
16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
Jeremiah 17:9
9 “The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
Jeremiah 10:23
23 O Yahweh, I know that the way humans act is not under their control.
Humans do not direct their steps as they walk.
Lent born after 325 AD
As I said, the Bible does not mention Ash Wednesday or Lent, and the early New
Testament Congregation did not observe these days.
In 325 AD, the Council of Nicea discussed a 40-day Lenten season of fasting.
Until the 600s, Lent began on Sunday,
but Gregory the Great moved it to a Wednesday,
now called Ash Wednesday.
The practice of putting ashes on one’s forehead has been known since ancient times.
The sign of the cross rubbed with ashes is not exclusive to Constantinian Christianity;
it is found throughout the ancient world and was used as prominent symbol of
the pagan gods.
For example, the Tau cross was inscribed on the foreheads of initiates into
the Mysteries of Mithras.
It is also interesting to note that the act of simply sprinkling ashes directly on
the head, which is also done on Ash Wednesday, was done in honor of the pagan
Norse god Odin as well.
The placing of ashes above the brow always occured on Wednesday,
the day named in honor of Odin.
Yahweh יהוה
Isaiah 42:8
8 I am Yahweh, that is My name;
I will not give My glory to another
or My praise to idols.
Yahweh our God designed us and gave us life.
He teaches how we are supposed to worship Him.
Lent may seem like a sincere, heartfelt religious observance.
But it is deeply pagan.
Yahweh our God hates all pagan observances.
They cannot be Christianized or made clean by men.
This includes Lent.
The Bible does teach the importance of fasting and self-examination,
but it does not teach a 40-day period called Lent or an Ash Wednesday of
putting ashes on the forehead.
Only Moses, Elijah and Yeshua (Jesus) fasted 40 days in the Bible…
The way of the heathen
Mardi Gras, Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Moundy Thursday or Lent are not
mentioned in the Bible- not even once.
Yeshua (Jesus) did not observe them.
None of the apostles observed them.
Nowhere in the Bible are us commanded to keep them.
Ash Wednesday and Lent were first practised at least 300 years (probably more)
after our Messiah`s resurrection.
Like so many other non- biblical Christian customs, they have pagan roots.
It is a sad fact that Christianity has appropriated so so so so many customs from
the practise of the heathens.

2 Thus saith the Lord: “Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
Did you know ??
The Buddhist monks wear crosses on their head gear and on necklaces.
They are wearing the mark and name of their sun god.
The tree symbol later evolved into a Tau that looks similar to both a cross and a tree
and then it became some form of a cross.
Here are some of the common forms of the sun-god cross.

Cirkle
The circle represents the immortality of the sun god.
The sound of the Tau, and the letter “T”, or “t” were all derived from the
sound that represents the incarnate of the sun god Tammuz, “Ta”.
The letter “t” makes the sound of the name of Tammuz,
the incarnation of the sun-god.
The mark “T”, or “t” are both the mark and name of the sun god incarnate.
